CONCORD, N.C. — Charlotte Motor Speedway officialized plans on Thursday to hold a trackside memorial service celebrating the life and legacy of two-time NASCAR Cup Series champion Kyle Busch, following the conclusion of Friday night’s Craftsman Truck Series event.

Busch, whose fierce driving style and relentless competitiveness reshaped modern stock car racing, passed away in May following a battle with illness. As the all-time winningest driver in Charlotte Motor Speedway history across NASCAR's top three national series, the venue serves as a fitting backdrop for a paddock-wide tribute.

The remembrance ceremony will feature remarks from his widow, Samantha Busch, as well as legendary team owner Joe Gibbs, under whose banner Busch secured his 2015 Cup Series championship. Active competitors including Kyle Larson, Daniel Suárez, and Christopher Bell are scheduled to attend to pay their respects to one of stock car racing’s most formidable icons.

"Kyle's impact on this speedway and the entire motorsports community is immeasurable," Charlotte Motor Speedway officials said in a statement. "Holding this memorial right here in North Carolina allows garages, teams, and fans to come together and honor a true champion."

With the 2026 Cup Series playoff tension mounting, Friday night’s tribute offers a poignant moment of reflection for a paddock united in honoring Busch's enduring legacy.
