CONCORD, N.C. — Layne Riggs secured his series-leading seventh victory of the 2026 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series season on Friday night, delivering a clutch performance in a dramatic, chaos-filled Ecosave 200 at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

Riggs spent the majority of the final stint chasing points leader Kaden Honeycutt, whose dominance was disrupted in the closing laps when Honeycutt made momentary contact with the outside retaining wall while navigating dense lap traffic. Sensing the opening, Riggs executed a decisive dive to the inside, seizing the lead and holding off a late charge from Christian Eckes as the checkered flag fell.

"We knew we had the race craft to stay in position, but you have to be ready when the door cracks open," Riggs said after climbing out of his No. 34 Ford in victory lane. "Getting seven wins this year is incredible, but closing that championship points gap here in Charlotte is what matters most."

The victory trims Honeycutt's championship lead over Riggs down to just 17 points with three races remaining in the postseason. Honeycutt ultimately recovered to finish third, behind runner-up Eckes.

The race was punctuated by a frightening late-stage incident when a multi-truck stack-up near the pit entrance sent pole-sitter Connor Mosack's No. 7 Chevrolet sliding out of control. Mosack's machine briefly erupted in flames near the pit wall, prompting a swift response from track safety personnel. Mosack was evaluated and cleared at the in-field care center without injury.

With the Truck Series round concluded, Charlotte Motor Speedway official activities transitioned into Friday night's trackside memorial honoring late two-time Cup Series champion Kyle Busch.
