AVONDALE, Ariz. — With the NASCAR Cup Series postseason battle reaching a critical fever pitch, 23XI Racing has unveiled an aggressive tactical adjustment ahead of this Sunday’s high-stakes clash at Phoenix Raceway.

Following a disastrous afternoon at Charlotte Motor Speedway—where a Lap 77 multi-car collision took down Bubba Wallace and severely damaged his playoff standing—23XI Racing officially entered rising star Corey Heim to drive the team’s third entry, the No. 67 Toyota Camry XSE.

The last-minute entry is far more than a routine driver development run. Paddock sources confirmed on Tuesday morning that Heim’s primary mission in Phoenix will be acting as a tactical support driver for full-time teammates Tyler Reddick and Wallace.

By fielding a third high-horsepower machine, 23XI Racing aims to control track position during short-track restart battles and maximize stage points density, effectively preventing rival championship contenders from sweeping top-10 stage bonuses.

"After the heartbreak at Charlotte, every single point matters for our organization," team management noted regarding the entry strategy. "Corey has proven his speed on short tracks, and having three Toyotas fighting at the front gives us a stronger strategic playbook at Phoenix."

Heim, who currently leads the Craftsman Truck Series standings, has made selective Cup Series starts throughout the 2026 season. His inclusion adds a potent wild card to Phoenix's 1.0-mile oval layout, where restart lane execution and clean air dictate pit window strategies.
